LACOMBE, AB – Blindman Brewing has announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to help finance a unique new addition to the brewery.
The brewery is planning to purchase a pair of foeders, large wooden barrels originally designed for aging wine, but which are now used by some craft breweries for fermenting and aging wild and sour ales.
According to the campaign page, Blindman has sourced two foeders from a Congac producer in France, and is hoping to raise $20,000 to cover the purchase and transportation costs. A variety of perks are being offered to pledgers, including vouchers for foeder-aged beer, branded merchandise, and the opportunity to develop and brew a beer alongside the Blundman brewing team.
