VICTORIA, BC – Phillips Brewing has announced the annual return of The Hammer Imperial Stout, with this year’s edition available exclusively as an oak-aged version.
The potent 8.3% abv ale is described as follows:
This year’s vintage was carefully aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels. It pours a deep earthy brown colour and features a full-bodied, roasted flavour profile with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and coconut. This beer pairs beautifully with dark winter nights, or if you have the patience, is a great candidate to make disappear for awhile in your beer cellar gulag.
650 ml bottles of The Hammer are available now in select private liquor stores in BC, as well as at the Phillips brewery store. A release tasting will take place on Thursday January 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Phillips brewery, where it will be available to sample on draught.
