TORONTO, ON – The organizers of the Brewer’s Backyard beer event series in Toronto have announced the launch of a new “collaboration label” to create beers together with a variety of local breweries.
Alias Brewing is a project that will work “openly and publicly alongside brewing partners to create unique beers with friends, for enjoyment at the Brewer’s Backyard and elsewhere.”
The first Alias brand is Hocken’s Orange Winter Warmer, a collaboration with Henderson Brewing that is described as follows:
A dark beer brewed with orange peel, cinnamon, star anise and vanilla, this beer is in honour of Horatio Hocken, a visionary and creator who was the mayor of Toronto in the early 1900s. Hocken was a founder of the Toronto Star, approved the Bloor Viaduct and was an early proponent of subways. For this we felt Horatio deserved his own local brew.
Hocken’s Orange Winter Warmer will make its debut at the Family Day edition of the Brewer’s Backyard, taking place next Monday February 20th at Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview Ave.). A limited number of bottles will also be available at the Henderson retail store while supplies last.
