VANKLEEK HILL, ON – Beau’s All Natural Brewing is continuing this year’s edition of FeBREWary – a month of beer launches and related events – with the latest in the monthly series of collaborative beers that are being released as part of the brewery’s partnership with Ottawa 2017.
Iron Shirt is strong pale ale created in collaboration with Montréal’s Brasserie et Distillerie Oshlag. Made with Vidal ice-wine grapes and aged on oak spirals soaked in Oshlag’s Hopped Vodka, the 6.8% abv ale is described as follows:
Pours hazy yellow with a white foam. The aroma is fruity with citrus and grape notes. The flavour displays balanced bitterness, clean malt and fruit notes. The finish is dry with mild grain alcohol warmth.
As with all beers in the Ottawa 2017 series, a portion of Iron Shirt’s sales will be donated to a charity selected by the collaborating brewery – in this case, Montréal-based community organization Je Passe Partout.
Iron Shirt will be released tomorrow (February 16th), and will be available in 600 ml bottles at the Beau’s brewery store and select retail locations in Quebec, and on draught at over 250 bars and pubs across Ontario and Quebec, while supplies last.
