LYONS BROOK, NS – New Glasgow newspaper The News reports that Uncle Leo’s Brewery will soon be shifting its packaging from bottles to cans, a move that will allow it to expand output by approximately 1000 litres per week.
The brewery has ordered a new canning machine that is expected to be in operation by May, at which point shipments of Uncle Leo’s IPA to the NSLC that take up to three days to package on the currently installed two-head bottle filler will be ready in just a few hours.
The faster turn-around time means that Uncle Leo’s will be able to offer two additional brands at NSLC stores – Sunburst Pale Ale, and a rotating seasonal beer.
