MONTAGUE, PE – The Guardian newspaper reports that a brewery planning to open later this year in Montague on the eastern end of Prince Edward Island has announced details of the business and what it will offer.
Montague Brewing Company – which will also be known as Beer Island – is being established by businessman David McGuire, and will be located in a former call centre building at 9 Brook St. in the picturesque town.
McGuire tells the paper that he has hired a Bavarian brewmaster with three decades of experience at breweries throughout Europe, and that the brewery will offer “a lineup of authentic, flavourful beers, with seasonal offerings throughout the year.”
The facility will also feature a retail store, taproom, and restaurant focused on local food, and beers will also be canned for off-site distribution.
While no firm timeline has been announced, McGuire hopes that the brewery will be up and running sometime this summer.
