COURTENAY, BC – After just over two years of serving its beers exclusively on draught and in growlers, Gladstone Brewing has announced the launch of its first canned brand.
Gladstone Pilsner (5.5% abv) was launched in the new format last week, with the new package described as follows:
The inspiration of the can design was drawn from the heritage of the brewery’s building in Downtown Courtenay. The Gladstone Brewing Co. building operated as the Seale and Thomson mechanics garage and dealership in the 1940s. Hence, the can design is rooted in the simple, impactful aesthetic of the time. From the items in the grocery store, to signage, to motor oil cans, the 1940s brought bold colours, and in-your-face graphics to everyday items. The design is crisp, clean, and refreshing… just like the Pilsner within.
Gladstone Pilsner is available now in 4-packs of 473 ml cans at the Gladstone Brewing taproom and retail store in downtown Courtenay, with a wider release at local private liquor stores planned to follow later this year.
