SAINT JOHN, NB – In celebration of its 150th birthday – a milestone that it shares with Canada – Moosehead Brewery has announced the release of a new limited edition beer, as well as other plans to mark the occassion.
Hitting beer and liquor stores across the country this month is Moosehead Anniversary Ale, a 5.7% abv and 40 IBU ale described as follows:
Moosehead Anniversary Ale is a Canadian pale ale made with 100% Canadian ingredients sourced from coast-to-coast. Truly a ‘taste of Canada’, this hop-forward pale ale is made with hops from Thompson Okanagan, British Columbia, Sainte-Anne-de-Prescott, Ontario and Moose Mountain, New Brunswick, and Canadian barley malt from Neustadt, Ontario and the Canadian Prairies.
Moosehead Anniversary Ale will be available until the autumn at LCBO outlets in Ontario, and through to the end of 2017 at retailers in other provinces.
In addition to the new beer, the brewery is changing the packaging of its flagship Moosehead Lager to have a special edition 150th anniversary design that is rolling out nationwide through April and May.
And set for expanded distribution is Moosehead Pale Ale, a core brand in Atlantic Canada that is rarely seen west of the Maritimes. Brewed to the same recipe since 1933, the iconic brand will be available in Ontario and Western Canada starting this month.
