TORONTO, ON – Great Lakes Brewery has announced that a summer seasonal brand that had a popular initial run last year is about to make a return.
Sunnyside Session IPA is a 3.9% abv and 25 IBU ale described as follows:
Gaze into the sun to get an idea of the colour of this unfiltered (brilliant gold, hazy) tasty treat, which is protected with a snowy head, reminiscent of white caps rolling on Lake Ontario. The citrus aromas leap from the glass with each gentle swirl. Lemon is the most prominent followed by pineapple and a touch of grapefruit. Light body, juicy and refreshing, the same aromas make their way onto the palate, which are elevated due to the soft carbonation and mouthfeel. A dry finish with lingering pineapple notes, Sunnyside has all the flavours of a big GLB IPA packaged into a remarkably drinkable session ale.
Sunnyside Session IPA will make its 2017 debut on Saturday May 13th at Summerhill LCBO in Toronto, with a launch event running from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Sunnyside will be available to purchase in 473 ml cans, and there will be three other GLB beers – Ice Hole Pale Ale, Harry Porter, and Found Money Abbey Single on Brett – available on draught for samples and growler fills.
Food for the launch will be provided by STACK Restaurant, and following the LCBO event, STACK will host the tapping of this year’s first keg of Sunnyside.
