REGINA, SK – District Brewing has announced the release of the in the District Barrel Series of limited edition barrel aged beers.
Vino Lager is a 5% abv and 18 IBU Helles lager that has been aged in wine barrels, with the following description:
This Helles has taken close to one year of aging in steel and oak to develop the rich voluptuous texture that we wanted. Silky smooth with aromas of lemon, peach, vanilla and oak. Lush, weighty and mouth-filling on the palate. The malt is still assertive enough to recognize as a fine hand crafted lager. Dry-hopped with New Zealand Waimea and Wakatu hops lend some tropical flare to the classic Paso Robles Chardonnay flavours. Rich tannins from the oak and hops provide a delicate balance to the tart acidity of the wine. Very complex and refreshing.
Vino Lager is available by in growlers at District Brewing, and on tap at select restaurants and bars in Regina and Saskatoon. For more details, see the release announcement and video on the District Brewing Facebook page.
