TORONTO, ON – A partnership that pairs amateur and professional brewers to create one-off collaborative beers at Toronto and area breweries has announced the upcoming opening of its own bricks and mortar location in the city’s Junction neighbourhood.
The People’s Pint Brewing Collective was founded by award-winning homebrewer Peter Caira and Prud’Homme Master Beer Sommelier and Educator Doug Appeldoorn, and will be moving into the space at 90 Cawthra Ave. that is currently occupied by Junction Craft Brewing, following its upcoming move to a larger facility at 150 Symes Road.
While Caira and Appeldoorn will be brewing a number of permanent and seasonal brands under the People’s Pint banner, the pair will also invite local homebrewers and professionals to come in and brew guest beers on a regular basis.
“We want to spotlight both established and up and coming talented brewers from around the city,” says Appeldoorn. “We will be an open and welcoming space for the Greater Toronto Area homebrew community. Having so many other brewers with unique ideas will allow us to push the brewing envelope and experiment with many different styles and ingredients.”
People’s Pint will officially take over the Cawthra Ave. location on October 1st, and will open its bottle shop and taproom soon afterwards. In the meantime, one-off People’s Pint beers brewed under the current model will be pouring at several events over the summer and early autumn, including the Junction Night Market on Saturday July 22nd an a Toronto Beer Week event on Saturday September 23rd at 3030 Dundas West.
