CALGARY, AB – A new brewery with a name and branding philosophy inspired by the owners’ love of comic books has announced that it will be launching in Calgary on the upcoming Canada Day weekend.
Zero Issue Brewing – named after the numbering that comic publishers often use for special prequel or origin issues of their series – has been founded by brothers Mark and Kirk MacDonald. Both have been homebrewers for a number of years, and Kirk took a year of the brewing program at Olds College before working at Village Brewery.
Zero Issue will be launching with three beers – Dystopia White IPA, Multiverse Pale Ale, and Nemesis IPA – and three events:
Saturday July 1st – Retail debut at 5 Vines (218 12 Ave SE, Calgary)
Sunday July 2nd – Launch party at Bottlescrew Bill’s (140 10 Ave SW, Calgary)
Wednesday July 5th – Taphouse grand opening at Zero Issue Brewing (4210 12 St NE, Calgary)
