AMHERSTBURG, ON – A new family-owned brewery has opened its doors in Amherstburg, a town south of Windsor in Ontario’s Essex County.
GL Heritage Brewing has been founded by brothers Greg and Dwayne Grondin, and their wives, Jen and Cathy.
Located at 8728 Howard Ave. on a farm that has been owned and run by the Grondin family for 150 years, the brewery takes its name from GL Heritage Motors, a local business – now known as Heritage Tire – that Greg and Dwayne’s father Don Grondin co-founded with Paul Lepine.
The brewery opened to the public yesterday (July 16th) with a selection of beers including Blonde Ale, California Common, Rye Ale, and Chocolate Stout available in the taproom and retail store.
GL Heritage Brewing will be open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. For more details, see the brewery’s Facebook page.
