Village Brewery Releases Village Bobby Northern English Brown Ale

CALGARY, AB – Village Brewery has announced the release of a new beer inspired by “great friend of ours and an important part of Calgary’s craft beer story.”

Village Bobby Northern English Brown Ale has the following story:

We love Alastair. And we’re not alone. He was one of Big Rock Brewery’s first employees. He put craft beer in pub after restaurant after hotel after liquor store long before “craft” was a thing. In honour of Alastair, we crafted this Northern English brown ale. The image on the label is from when a young Alastair was a police officer in 19 mumble, mumble. It’s also his favourite style of ale.

The beer itself was made with “six malts that contribute notes of toasted nuts, plums, and toffee,” and “a light profile of English hops – East Kent Goldings and Fuggles.”

Village Bobby is launching today at the brewery, and will be available in six-packs of bottles and in the Winter Village Square sampler pack.
