ST. THOMAS, ON – Railway City Brewing has announced the winning beer from Platform 17, the brewery’s 6th annual homebrewing competition, will be commercially released later this month.
Oddjob (9.7% abv, 82 IBU) is a Russian Imperial Stout created by Dennis Kwasnycia of London, with the following tasting notes:
This robust, full bodied brew is the perfect sidekick on a cool fall day. The espresso coloured brew enters the glass and leaves a dense mocha head with visible lacing. Aromas include notes of ripe fruits, molasses and dark rum. Flavours of raw cocoa and roasted malts hit the front of the palate, slowly fading to reveal a subtle chocolate orange ending for a smooth finish.
Oddjob will be officially released on Thursday October 26th with a launch event at the brewery starting at 7:00 PM. It will be available in 650 ml bottles at the Railway City retail store and on tap at select bars and restaurants while supplies last.
