EDMONTON, AB – The Government of Alberta has announced that it has awarded a grant to the Alberta Small Brewers Association (ASBA) with an aim to “establish craft brewing as a must-visit experience for beer fans and brewers from around the world.”
The $60,000 grant from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is intended to help the organisation “further grow this industry through the development of the brand, a digital platform to promote local touring and staycations, and the creation of industry-focused education programs.”
“Alberta’s exploding craft brewing industry has deep roots in things that make the province special: our agriculture, our natural environment and our entrepreneurial verve,” said ASBA executive director Terry Rock in a statement. “We look forward to building our industry into a signature attraction for Albertans and visitors alike.”
The announcement comes in the midst of the 2017 edition of Alberta Beer Week, with events continuing throughout the province until this weekend.
