ESQUIMALT, BC – Lighthouse Brewing has announced details of the second annual release of its limited edition winter seasonal.
For the 2017 vintage of Depth Charge (9% abv), the brewery has crafted a Belgian Quad aged in cognac barrels, and described as follows:
Belgian yeast provides a spicy backbone to the rich cognac and oak flavours of dark fruit, caramel, vanilla and toasted bread. It pours a dark gold, meant to show off the cognac it contains. While it is a higher proof beer, the heat from the alcohol is in perfect step with its complex flavour profile and light sweetness on the palate.
Depth Charge will be launched next Thursday November 9th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Tudor House Liquor Store. Samples will be available to try, along with food from Melting Moments Catering, and representatives from the brewery will be on hand to discuss the beer. For more details, see the Facebook event page.
Following the launch, Depth Charge will be available in 750 ml bottles at select liquor stores in B.C. while supplies last.
