QUESNEL, BC – Barkerville Brewing has announced the release of a beer inspired by “the old Barkerville days of snake oil, miracle cures, and invigorating hair tonics.”
Prescription Porter (5.2% abv, 30 IBU) is a porter brewed with chilis and chaga mushrooms (“considered medicinal in Russian and Eastern European folk medicine”) that were harvested locally by head brewer Erin Dale. It’s described as “spicy, mildly hoppy, malty, [with] a chocolate backbone.”
Prescription Porter is available now in 650 ml bottles at the brewery and select private liquor stores in British Columbia while supplies last.
