BURLINGTON, ON – Nickel Brook Brewing has announced that the 2017 vintage of one of its most anticipated annual releases will be available next month.
Kentucky Bastard Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout (12% abv) is described as follows:
Kentucky Bastard is aged for a full year in Kentucky bourbon barrels, creating a truly artisan product. Hundreds of barrels are blended to create the final beer every winter, which is bottled and wax-sealed by hand to encourage further cellar-ageing. The resulting beer blends rich chocolate, coffee and dark fruit notes from the stout with vanilla, oak and warming alcohol imparted by the bourbon barrels. It is perfect as a dessert beer, enjoyed by a fire or with a fine cigar, or to celebrate a special occasion.
This year’s version of Kentucky Bastard will be released in early December in a limited run of wax-dipped 500 ml bottles that will be available at the Nickel Brook retail store and select bars and restaurants while supplies last.
UPDATE: Nickel Brook has confirmed that it will be holding a launch party for this year’s Kentucky Bastard at the brewery on December 9th, at that it will be available at select LCBO locations and licensees starting the week of December 11th.
