ST. JOHN’S, NL – Yellowbelly Brewery has announced details of this year’s edition of its annual holiday seasonal beer.
Mummer’s Brew 2017 (6.5% abv, 35 IBU) is a Blackcurrant Milk Stout described as follows:
This years Mummer’s Brew is an unctuous, big, malty stout reminiscent of a Midnight cocktail (port and stout). That was the target. The roast is evident on the nose as notes of chocolate and slight smoke augmented by the aroma of the berries. The tartness of the blackcurrants marries with the roasty, malty sweetness in a most delicious and warming way. Finishes sweet/sour with a lingering fruit presence. Back sweetened with cider concentrate and lactose to help the blackcurrants ‘pop’, it has a lovely sense of balance.
Mummer’s Brew 2017 will be available soon on tap at the Yellowbelly brewpub, and a limited run of 1 litre bottles at the brewery retail store and select NLC locations.
