MONCTON, NB – Tide & Boar Brewing, the small brewery located in Moncton’s Tide & Boar Gastropub, has announced that its first bottled beer will be released later this week.
The simply named Barrel Aged Sour is described as follows:
This Sour Ale was first soured with lactobacillus, aged for three months in a freshly emptied Napa Valley Pinot Noir French Oak barrel, and then placed on top of 30lbs of New Brunswick raspberries. Fermentation was finished with brettanomyces and finally bottle conditioned. An acidic beer, the raspberries stand out and blend well with the Pinot Noir and oak. The brettanomyces gives it the funky character you need in a beer like this.
Tide & Boar Barrel Aged Sour is limited to a run of 200 x 750 ml bottles, with 100 going on sale to the public in Tide & Boar’s Duo Cafe this Friday December 15th at 5:00 PM.
