HALIFAX, NS – Garrison Brewing has announced details of three winter seasonals that are now available.
Spruce Beer (7.5% abv, 35 IBU) is an annual favourite that is back in a more limited edition than usual, and is described as follows:
Local Spruce and fir tips are harvested from Meander River Farms to re-create this historic East Coast Brew. The evergreen mix adds bold aroma & crisp bitterness while Blackstrap molasses creates a sweet, dark complexity.
Wintervention (11.5% abv, 60 IBU) is an Imperial Chocolate Stout aged for 11 months in bourbon barrels, with the following notes:
The time spent in the Bourbon barrels give this brew a deliciously complex flavour. Rich bittersweet chocolate aromatics with cherry and vanilla underneath. Layers of chocolate fudge, coffee, malted milk balls and molasses flavors with a bittersweet chocolate finish.
Leroy Imperial Brown (10% abv, 41 IBU) is a collaboration with Ontario’s Sawdust City Brewing, and has the following description:
Pours brown with a creamy head. Smooth aroma and flavor of molasses bread and milk chocolate. Boasts a deliciously subtle molasses & dark chocolate finish.
All three beers are available now in 650 ml bottles at the Garrison retail store, and Spruce Beer is also available at Liquid Assets in Halifax Airport, with a small amount set aside for an upcoming release in Newfoundland.
