TORONTO, ON – Radical Road Brewing has announced details of a new limited edition beer that is being released in honour of Robbie Burns Day, along with an accompanying e-book
Clan Ale (5% abv) is an 80-shilling style Scottish ale described as being “light bodied but malt forward with biscuity and nutty notes.”
Clan Ale will be launched at Radical Road on Thursday January 25th, with each label featuring a special code that can be scanned to download The Tribe Within, which is described as follows:
The book is a study of the origin of a 2,000 year-old Celtic tribe and the 400 family surnames associated with it, says author Anthony Murphy Barrett. Combining both DNA results and family histories reveals a fascinating story of how they are all connected. “This book tells a tale which has been lost for over a thousand years,” he says. Clan Ale, itself, becomes part of the story, Barrett adds. It creates an ambience of ancestry, transporting readers’ taste buds to the Middle Ages. “Taste is one of our strongest senses and can enhance our emotions. We hope folks enjoying this ale will also appreciate this genealogical story – especially if they are associated with one of the 400 family names,” he says.
The launch event for Clan Ale and The Tribe Within starts at 6:00 PM, and tickets are available via Eventbrite. For more details, see the Radical Road Facebook page.
