TORONTO, ON – Longslice Brewery and sports bar/gastropub The Dock Ellis have announced that they are teaming up to launch a new brewpub later this year in the Canary District, an up-and-coming neighbourhood near the Distillery District in east Toronto.
The Aviary Brewpub will “have a fun, community-friendly vibe, with a focus on craft beer, amazing food, and sports,” according to the project announcement.
The on-site brewhouse will be the first permanent location for Longslice, which has been producing its beer on a contract basis since launching in 2014. Core brands Hopsta La Vista IPA and Loose Lips Lager as well as a variety of new and limited edition recipes will be available on tap and in an on-site retail shop.
The food menu will be “inspired by craft beer pairings and will focus on food made fresh in house,” including popular dishes from The Dock Ellis and new creations.
The Aviary bar and restaurant is due to open in mid-2018, with the Longslice brewhouse to follow in early 2019. More details are likely to be announced via Facebook and Twitter as the project progresses.
