CALGARY, AB – Village Brewery has announced details of the 3rd annual edition of Village Friend, a series of collaborative beers brewed to support the growth of small craft breweries in Alberta.
Developed in tandem with Zero Issue Brewing, the 2018 version of the beer is an Imperial Golden Stout (9.9% abv) described as follows:
This edition of the Village Friend brings us even closer to our pals at Zero Issue Brewing. Founder and former Village Brewer, Kirk MacDonald got together with our new brewing manager, Josh Hanson, to create this beautiful imperial golden stout. Illustrated by artist Sofia Elidrissi, Josh and Kirk grace our 650ml bomber bottle. As Kirk has already been part of one of the Village Friend brews during his time at Village, we proceeded to add just a little more grey to his beard. To top it off, we are proud to use our world-renowned Alberta Barley in this brew. Brewed better together.
Village Friend 2018 is being launched today (February 7th) at the Village Brewery during an open event from 2:00 to 5:00 PM that will also feature the launch of a two month exhibition of works by members of the local arts group Market Collective.
Village Friend will be available at the Village retail store, and select liquor stores in Alberta, while supplies last.
