LITTLE CURRENT, ON – The Manitoulin Expositor reports that Manitoulin Brewing has released a new brand inspired by the brewing history of the region.
Haw Eaters’ Brew (4.3% abv) features a name and label based on a beer once made by the now defunct Doran’s Northern Breweries. “Haw eater” is a nickname for people born on Manitoulin Island, and is derived from the large number of hawberries that grow there.
The modern version of Haw Eaters’ Brew is a light lager described as having “subtle malt flavour that finishes crisp and clean.” It was officially launched in late February, and is available now in 355 ml cans at the Manitoulin Brewing retail store.
