HAMILTON, ON – Collective Arts Brewing has announced details of four beers and a cider that will be released starting this week and through the spring.
The releases will kick off on Saturday March 31st with Chocolate Malt Milkshake Breakfast Stout (5.6% abv), a collaboration with Mr. West Bar & Bottleshop in Melbourne, Australia. It’s described as follows:
We fashioned a sweet stout, with generous amounts of milk lactose sugar. We then added heaps of the Australian favourite ‘Energy Drink’. The result is a chocolate and malt flavour bomb that finishes with a delectably creamy, sweet finish that is still not overly cloying and perfectly drinkable. It’s a real rippa’! (That’s the extent of the Australian slang we know.)
Out on the same day is Honey & Lavender Cider:
Juice from a blend of local apples fermented with local Ontario honey and infused with floral botanicals. The nose just screams spring; honey, lavender and fruit, like running through a field full of flowers in the sunshine. The honey character lingers on the pallet, but is not overly sweet, and is complemented by the acidic freshness of the apple.
Following sometime in April will be Passionfruit & Peach Dry Hop Sour (6% abv), with the following notes:
Following in the footsteps of our Mash Up the Jam, this Collective Project is packed full of juicy peach and tropical passionfruit flavour and aroma. We added a healthy dose of Galaxy and Simcoe hops to make this one bright and fruity. Extremely refreshing with a sour finish for the ultimate juicy and sour beer-drinking experience.
Up in May will be Ginger & Lime Berliner Weisse (4.4% abv), a new style for the brewery:
Our first ever Berliner Weisse is jam-packed with lime juice, lime zest and fresh ginger. Ultimately refreshing with the combination of lime and fresh ginger makes this brew a tart and light Berliner Weisse.
And finally, June will see the release of Strawberry & Soursop Berliner Weisse (5% abv):
Native to the tropical regions of the Americas, soursop fruit lends it’s creamy and citrus character to this brew. We added some strawberries and put them in a light, tart and refreshing Berliner Weisse.
All of the beers will be available in 473 ml cans and on tap at the Collective Arts store and taproom, while the Honey & Lavender Cider will only be available on tap due to liquor regulations.
Outside of the brewery, all five will be available at select bars and restaurants, the Cider and Ginger & Lime Berliner Weisse will be at retail outlets in Ontario, and Chocolate Malt Milkshake Breakfast Stout will be making the trip down under to be featured at Australia Good Beer Week in May.
