VICTORIA, BC – Bring Your Porter to the Slaughter reports that the owners of two well-known B.C. craft beer establishments – The Drake Eatery in Victoria and Steel & Oak Brewing in New Westminster – are planning to partner on a new brewpub in Victoria.
A public meeting was held earlier this week to review and discuss plans for the proposed Herald Street Brewpub (tentative name) which will be located at 517 Herald Street, a short walk from The Drake as well as Swans Hotel & Brewery and Canoe Brewpub.
Designed by by architect Peter de Hoog, the venue will feature 135 seats across two interior floors and a rooftop patio, and a brewing system by Spec Mec that will produce beer exclusively for on-site consumption. Assuming all approvals are received, it’s expected that the brewpub will open sometime in 2019 or 2020.
