PERTH, ON – A brewery planned to open later this year the Eastern Ontario town of Perth has announced the release of a contract-brewed version of its first brand.
Weatherhead Brew Co. is being founded by three local couples – Tyler & Jaana Brett, Dan & Mary-Catherine Allatt, Andrew & Kelly James – along with brewmaster Hugh Colbert, and as reported last year, will be situated at the corner of Wilson St. W. and Welland St. in Perth.
According to Ontario Beverage Network, Weatherhead is entering the market with Pilot IPA (6% abv, 55 IBU), which the brewery describes as having “a refreshing, hazy blend of Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra hops giving it a very bold, hoppy, tropical aroma and taste.”
Currently being brewed under contract at Big Rig Brewery in Ottawa, Pilot IPA will be launching today (April 10th) at O’Reilly’s Ale House in Perth, with more licensees to follow soon.
