MOUNT PEARL, NL – A pair of Newfoundland-born brewers who recently moved back to the province after several years away have teamed up with a third partner and announced plans to open a brewery in the city of Mount Pearl later this year.
Landwash Brewery is being established by Christina Coady and Chris Conway, previously the founding brewers at Folly Brewpub in Toronto, and Jennifer Defreyne, a project management expert with two decades of experience.
Set to be located at 181 Commonwealth Ave in Mount Pearl, Landwash will feature a 15-barrel brewing system, taproom, and retail store selling cans and growlers.
According to a press release, the beers will “trend toward modern American craft styles with some Belgian influences, which will also include some barrel aged beers and sour beers as the brewery develops.” And while the facility won’t include a full kitchen, Landwash will partner with local food producers and food trucks for pop-up events in the taproom
Construction of Landwash Brewery is now underway, with an aim to have it open by late 2018. For more details, see the Landwash website and Facebook page.
