CALGARY, AB – Three veterans of Calgary’s brewing and homebrewing scenes have announced plans to open a brewery in the city later this year.
Cabin Brewing Company is being founded by Jonas Hurtig of Wild Rose Brewery, Haydon Dewes of beer news website The Daily Beer, and Darrin Sayers of Cowtown Yeast Wranglers homebrew club.
Hurtig is leaving his position at Wild Rose to head up the brewing program at Cabin, where the partners plan to produce beer that is “fresh, flavourful, complex and hop-centric.”
Set to feature a 10-barrel brewing system and taproom, Cabin will be located at 505 36 Ave SE in an area of Calgary that has come to be known as the Barley Belt due to its high concentration of breweries.
Cabin Brewing is planning to open in the autumn of 2018. For more details, see the brewery’s website, Facebook page, Twitter feed, and Instagram account.
