GUELPH, ON – Wellington Brewery has announced that its Kickin’ Back Dry-Hopped Session Ale is being relaunched with a new can, slightly new name, and tweaked recipe.
Now known as Kickin’ Back Session IPA (4.8% abv, 48 IBU), the redesigned beer is described as follows by Wellington Brewmaster Marvin Dyck:
We decided to increase the dry hop addition significantly and it felt right to start calling this a Session IPA. These late addition hops do not increase the bitterness of the beer but rather enhance the spicy citrus and earthy notes of these Ontario grown hops.
The brewery also notes that the beer “will continue to be made with 100% Ontario grown hops from Clear Valley Hops in Nottawa, Ontario.”
The new version of Kickin’ Back is rolling out now and will be available at select LCBO and Beer Store locations throughout Ontario. It’s also available at the Wellington retail shop and online store, with both of those outlets offering a free 473 ml can of Kickin’ Back with any 6-pack or other purchase valued at $16 or more from Friday June 1st to Sunday June 3rd.
