DILDO, NL – CBC News reports that a Newfoundland community with a slightly risqué-sounding name will see the launch of a namesake brewery this weekend.
Dildo Brewing & Museum will be opening on Sunday July 1st in Dildo, a small town located approximately 100 km west of St. John’s on the shore of Trinity Bay.
The brewery includes a pub with a full food menu, a deck with a view of the bay, and incorporates the Dildo Museum which was previously located in the building.
Brewmaster Lionel Rodrigues tells CBC that the beers available at opening will include “stout, IPA, red, blond and blueberry blond,” with the red ale getting its colour from the addition of beets, and the blueberry beer brewed with locally grown berries. The names of the beers won’t be revealed until Sunday, but co-owner Angela Reid says that they are inspired by “this community and a lot of the place names and a lot of the quirky things that people say.”
Dildo Brewing & Museum is located at 1 Front Road in Dildo. For more details, see the CBC News article and the brewery’s Facebook page.
