CHARLOTTETOWN, PE & DARTMOUTH, NS – Upstreet Craft Brewing has announced that it has partnered with Chef Inspired Group of Restaurants to open a new brewery and restaurant in Dartmouth later this year.
As reported by the Atlantic Canada Beer Blog, Upstreet BBQ Brewhouse will feature a brewery overseen by Upsreet’s brewmaster Mike “Hogie” Hogan that will produce batches of flagship brands from the original Charlottetown location, along with new and exclusive beers.
For the food menu, the team is “drawing inspiration fact-finding missions to Kansas City, and bringing home some best practices for their own pit crew for an authentic BBQ experience, made with, and to pair with, their beer.”
Upstreet BBQ Brewhouse will be located at 612 Windmill Road, an address that has two decades of brewing history behind it. Opened in 1998 as Maritime Beer Company, the facility was taken over by Sleeman Breweries in 2000, and closed in 2013. It was then reopened in 2016 as DownEast Beer Factory, a short-lived operation that shut down last autumn.
Upstreet BBQ Brewhouse will be opening in September. For more details, see the new location’s website and Facebook page.
