ABBOTSFORD, BC – The Growler BC reports that a brewery in Abbotsford that has had a somewhat troubled existence has relaunched today with hopes of a better future.
Old Abbey Ales opened its doors in 2015 with team that included owner Don Piccolo and brewmaster Tony Dewald. However, Dewald left less than a year later to co-open Trading Post Brewing, and Piccolo sadly passed away earlier this year, leading to the closure of the brewery.
Several months later, the brewery has been reopened by new ownership with many of the same staff, including most recent brewmaster Steve Black. According to The Growler, “the newly renovated tasting room features 12 taps of craft beer, as well as new food offerings, a pool table and a sweet jukebox.”
More details on the new era of Old Abbey Ales is expected to be available soon on the brewery’s website.
