TORONTO, ON – Great Lakes Brewery has announced that one of its most popular seasonal beers has been promoted to full-time status, and will now be available year-round.
Octopus Wants To Fight IPA (6.2% abv, 88 IBU) debuted as a one-off release in 2015, but customer demand brought it back as part of GLB’s rotation of seasonal IPAs. Its latest edition in that series has been available since the spring, and rather than going back on hiatus, it will be joining Canuck Pale Ale, Pompous Ass English Ale, Blonde Lager, and Red Leaf Lager as a permanent listing.
Octopus is described as follows:
It pours a beautiful burnt gold edging into a dull orange complete with a tight white head. Lots of tropical fruit (pineapple, orange pith) abound from the glass with each whiff, followed by a walk in the woods as pine, evergreen and some herbaceous notes are picked up. The first sip provides a touch of sweetness, some dank grass combined with pine needles, and then right into “juicy fruit”. Medium body with a soft mouthfeel gives way to a memorable dry yet bitter finish.
Octopus Wants To Fight IPA is available now for $3.25 per 473 ml can at the GLB retail store and LCBO locations throughout Ontario.
