CALGARY, AB – The Dandy Brewing Company has announced the release of its first ever lager.
The Dandy Lager (5% abv) is a “Premium Import Style Lager” described as follows:
Not trying to re-invent the classic, this beer is simple, but Dandy through and through. Brewed with toasted rice and Alberta barley, it uses the hop-burst technique to bring a fresh citrus aroma to the beer without upping the bitterness; balance is key. Overall it is a fresh and crisp lager, ideal for the most discerning craft drinker, but approachable enough for everyone.
“We’ve been waiting quite a while to venture into lager territory, and only wanted to if we could hit it exactly how we wanted… not just a lager for lager’s sake,” says Dandy co-founder/managing director Ben Leon. “The hop bursted Mandorina Bavaria aroma keeps it fresh and bright and exciting, while still hitting the pocket for balance.”
The Dandy Lager is available now on tap and in 473 ml cans at the brewery, and soon at select beer retailers in Alberta along with short-run can releases of two other Dandy beers: Cosmic Dancer session IPA and All the Young Dudes dry hopped kettle sour.
