Fernie Brewing Unveils New Packaging for Full Brand Portfolio

FERNIE, BC – Fernie Brewing has announced the launch of a “clean, crisp and bold” new packaging design for its full line-up of core and seasonal beers.

First seen on recently released seasonals such as Stratus Hazy IPA and Java The Hut Coffee Milk Stout, the new and more consistent look is described as follows:

This community-minded brewery took the leap to replace their individual illustrations with a single, bold mountain ridgeline, based off the well-known Mount Hosmer – the dramatic backdrop to Fernie Brewing Co. itself. They’ve also chosen to accompany the Fernie mountain scene with a description on each can or bottle, detailing unique ingredients and the connection to Fernie’s mountain culture.

With just a few seconds to catch consumers’ attention, FBC quickly realized the need to keep their brands in their existing colour spectrum, transitioning their well-known colour blocking into a more neutral trio of tones. Their flagship Project 9 Pils has remained a bright teal, First Trax Brown continues to hold true to brown, and Hit the Deck Hazy IPA stays strong with nautical blues.

Other changes include a switch to new cans with a matte finish, new names for several beers (Pumpkin Brown Ale is now Ghostrider Pumpkin Brown Ale, Base Camp West Coast Pale is now Campout West Coast Pale), and a move from bomber bottles to tall cans for the bi-monthly IPA Series.

Fernie beers in the new packaging are rolling out now, and will be available at retailers throughout Western Canada in coming weeks.
