BAY ROBERTS, NL – The burgeoning brewing industry in Newfoundland has one more active participant with the opening of Baccalieu Trail Brewing.
Founded by homebrewers Mark Burry and Julian Kean, the brewery has been in the works since last autumn, and is located along its namesake driving route in the town of Bay Roberts on the north shore of Conception Bay.
The doors of the brewery and taproom opened this past Saturday November 10th, with four beers – Winterman’s ESB (4.8% abv, 35 IBU), Mad Rock IPA (5.5% abv, 36 IBU), Baccalieu Blonde Ale (5.5% abv, 19 IBU), and Smokeroom Porter (4.7% abv, 23 IBU) – available by the glass and growler.
Baccalieu Trail Brewing is located at 1 Conception Bay Highway near the causeway from Bay Roberts to Spaniard’s Bay. Business hours are 12:00 noon to 11:00 PM from Wednesday to Sunday. For more details, see the brewery’s Facebook page.
