HALIFAX, NS – 2 Crows Brewing has announced details of two new beers are available this weekend.
Released today (December 21st) on tap and in 473 ml cans is Waltz (5.5% abv, 22 IBU), a German-style pilsner with the following notes:
Brewed with 100% heirloom German Pilsner malt, we pulled out all the stops to try to make the best lager we possibly could. We utilized deaerated brewing water, a low O2 brewing environment and a multiple-step mash to create our wort, and hopped with German Huell Melon, H Blanc, and Saphir hops. Fermented low and slow with a classic German lager strain, this beer was given more than 8 weeks of lagering time. We really feel like the time and effort put into this brew has paid off nicely. Beautifully crisp, doughy, with some lovely lemony and herbal notes.
Out tomorrow (December 22nd) in a run of just 94 x 750 ml corked-and-caged bottles is Razzle Dazzle (6.1% abv), a “champagne brett lager” described as follows:
Brewed in March with a base of Pilsner malt and rice, and hopped with H Blanc. Fermented with a clean lager yeast and lagered for about 7 weeks… then we added glucoamylase enzyme and Brett C and allowed the beer to condition for about 5 months before bottling with champagne yeast. Super dry, crisp, funky, with notes of pineapple, hay, and pear.
