Phillips Brewing Opens Nominations for 2019 Benefit Brews

VICTORIA, BC – Phillips Brewing has started making plans for the 2019 edition of its annual Phillips Benefit Brews – one each for British Columbia and Alberta – and as always, the brewery is asking the community to help select a worthy charity to support in each province:

Benefit Brew [is] an annual project where Phillips Brewing Company creates a custom brew for a cause. The beer is named after the charity, given a custom-designed label, and full proceeds are donated (approx. $10,000). Which cause? That’s up to you!

For this year’s campaign, Phillips is looking to specifically support organizations that are contributing to the fight against climate change. Nominations can be made until January 11th for any federally registered environmental charity – with the exception of children’s charities – in BC and Alberta.

Following the nomination period, five nominees will be selected in each province, and a public vote to select the winners will run from January 25th to February 1st. Two custom beers will be brewed and released later this year, with all proceeds – approximately $10,000 from each – donated to the winning charities, while the runners-up will each receive a $500 donation.

More information, including full nomination criteria, is available on the Phillips Benefit Brew website.
