NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – Steel & Oak Brewing has announced the return of a seasonal beer inspired by the traditional Sahti beers of Finland.
Kataja (5% abv) – Finnish for “juniper” – is described as follows:
Juniper berries and Northwest hops give Kataja gin-like notes with a twist of citrus. A complex malt bill including rye, oat and barley is followed by a crisp bitterness, not from hops, but from the juniper berries themselves.
Kataja is available now in 650 ml bottles at Steel & Oak and select private retailers.
