OTTAWA, ON – Dominion City Brewing and Ren Navarro of Beer. Diversity. have announced a new scholarship program aimed at aiding the development a more “inclusive and diverse craft beer scene” in Ontario.
The Dominion City Beer. Diversity. Scholarship is described as follows:
This scholarship will be awarded annually to one outstanding senior level student in the Niagara College Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program with a background presently underrepresented in the brewing industry.
The scholarship is two-fold; it includes $1,000 towards the recipient’s tuition and will be followed by a paid eight-week internship at Dominion City upon completion of study. The focus of the internship will be on beer production, covering everything from wort production and cellaring to packaging and lab work. Recipients will learn how to apply theory into day-to-day life as a working brewer.
