NORTH VANCOUVER, BC – A new brewery that is “dedicated to the funkier side of life and brewing” is set to officially open this weekend in North Vancouver’s burgeoning Shipyards Brewery District.
House of Funk Brewing has been founded by Darren and Jody Hollett, who promise that it will have a “heavy emphasis on wood, brettanomyces, bacteria and all around funkiness.”
The brewery and taproom has been in soft opening mode for the last few days leading up to the official launch, and beers available on tap and in 473 ml crowler cans include Lykke Gose (3.5% abv), Diana Saison (5% abv), Valhalla Hazy Pale Ale (4.5% abv), Chaka Khan Sour IPA (6.5% abv), Bootsy Sour IPA (6.75% abv), Debauchery Imperial Milk Stout (10.5% abv), Funk Juice V1: Mango + Guava Smoothie Sour (4% abv), Flora Berliner Weisse (2.9% abv), Syncopation Pilsner (5% abv), and Mama Pacha Wild Ale (5% abv).
House of Funk Brewing is located at 350 E Esplanade in North Vancouver, adjacent to Beere Brewing. Hours on opening day – Saturday May 11th – will be 12:00 noon to “late”. Regular business hours will be 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday to Thursday, and 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
