GUELPH, ON – Two months after its return from bankruptcy under new ownership was announced, Guelph’s StoneHammer Brewing is set to reopen its brewery and taproom to the public later this week.
Mike Oosterveld of Fixed Gear Brewing purchased the StoneHammer brands, recipes, and facility several months after its closure in April 2018, and has promised to “bring back StoneHammer and give Ontario craft beer lovers a taste of what they’ve been missing.”
The revival started in June when the flagship StoneHammer Dark Ale (5% abv) went on tap at select bars and restaurants in Guelph. Other StoneHammer brands including Red Ale, Pilsner and Coffee Stout are also planned to be reintroduced.
StoneHammer Brewing is located at 355 Elmira Road North in Guelph, and will be reopening on Friday August 16th with business hours from 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM, and official festivities from 2:00 to 4:00 PM including a ribbon cutting with local dignitaries, brewery tours, and free barbecue.
The taproom will also be open on Saturday August 17th from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM, and Sunday August 18th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM. Ongoing business hours after opening weekend have not yet been announced.
