TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced release details for its “very first 100% spontaneously inoculated wild beer.”
Intermodal is described as follows:
This is a beer that began over two years ago, with a traditional turbid wort recipe, an overnight slumber in our outdoor koelschip, and then 2 years fermenting in a variety of oak barrels. More recently these barrels were blended, and given a long conditioning in the bottle. So what does this Intermodal taste like? It has a moderate level of acidity that’s softer than it is extreme, subtle aromatics of aged hops and honey, with dazzling notes of white grape, hay, oak, and peach.
Intermodal will be released tomorrow (November 16th) in a limited run of 500 ml, 750 ml, and 1.5 L bottles at both Bellwoods retail stores.
The brewery will also be hosting an Intermodal Day release party at its Hafis Road location from 12:00 noon to 7:00 PM. featuring Intermodal on draft and a selection of wild/spontaneous beers from Pen Druid, Cantillon, De Garde, Tilquin, Drie Fonteinen, and Cantillon.
