TORONTO, ON – Henderson Brewing has announced a new initiative to reduce the packaging used for its home beer delivery service during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Local customers shopping via the brewery’s online store can now chose to order cases of six Henderson brands – including Henderson’s Best Amber Ale, Food Truck Lagered Blonde, Union Pearson Ale IPA, Nordic Lager, Hazy Session IPA with Grapefruit & Lime, and Picnic Beer – in reusable milk crates rather than disposable cardboard and plastic packaging.
“I’d like to see 80% of our home delivery done this way,” said Adin Wener, VP of sales, in a statement. “It is much more common in Europe to see beer sold like this, and maybe with this change in our business, the time has come for it to be this way here as well.”
Each milk crate holds 28 x 473 ml cans, and sells for $88 which includes a $5 crate deposit. For more details, see the announcement on the Henderson Brewing website.
