TORONTO, ON – Great Lakes Brewery and Toronto running group RunTOBeer have announced the 2020 edition of their annual collaboration beer for the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, which will be taking place in a “virtual race” format this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Virtual Beer (4.3% abv) is a New England Pale Ale described as a “light bodied, orange/yellowish hazy pale ale [that] is full flavoured with aromas and flavours of citrus (orange, grapefruit) alongside notes of honeydew melon.”
The can features a label by runner and designer Richard Kuchinsky of The Directive Collective that allows participants to record their finishing time with a marker as a keepsake of their run.
Virtual Beer will go on sale tomorrow (October 1st) at 6:30 PM via the Great Lakes online store, with 50 cents from each can sold to be donated to Good Foot Delivery, a local delivery service that employs people with developmental disabilities.
