PETROLIA, ON – A brewery and taproom several years in the making has opened its doors in Petrolia, a small town in southwestern Ontario.
Black Gold Brewery has been founded by four couples – Brent & Nicole Gauthier, Carolyn & Dan Laton, Robyn & Bernie Brocklehurst, and Tara & Chris Meharg – with Brent building on his 15+ years of homebrewing experience to serve as head brewer.
Black Gold officially opened on Saturday November 14th for taproom and retail sales, and is offering a initial beer line-up that includes Liquid Gold Cream Ale (4.2% abv), Derrick IPA (5.6% abv), Pantless In Petrolia Double IPA (7% abv), Not Just NEIPA (5.5% abv), It’s Frackin’ Good Wheat Ale (4.6% abv), and American Strong Ale (7.4% abv). A food menu featuring charcuterie and other snacks is also available, and customers are welcome to order in more substantial meals.
Black Gold Brewery is located at 395 Fletcher Street in Petrolia, and is open Thursday (4:30 PM to 10:00 PM), Friday (4:30 PM to 11:00 PM), Saturday (12:00 noon to 11:00 PM), and Sunday (12:00 noon to 8:00 PM). For more details, see the brewery’s website and Facebook page.
