TORONTO, ON – Left Field Brewery has announced the release of three editions of its annual strong winter seasonal beer.
Blackburne Imperial Stout (9.7% abv) is back for its 4th annual visit:
This colossal stout is named in honour of the secretive and strange ritual behind every Major League baseball. This beer pours black and opaque with a mocha foam, giving aromas of baker’s chocolate, vanilla and plum. Blackburne is viscous and smooth, saturated with decadent fudge and toffee, and laced with evergreen bitterness that gives way to a warming finish.
Returning for a 3rd year is Bourbon Barrel-Aged Blackburne (9.7% abv):
If Blackburne is a rich, dark tribute to the game’s most curious ritual, the mystery only deepens with Bourbon Barrel-Aged Blackburne as this imperial stout emerges after a year of aging in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Swirling oaky aromas of sweet cocoa give way to bold, sticky dark chocolate, raisin and burnt caramel flavours, with a full, warming finish.
And brand new for 2020 is Mexican Chocolate Blackburne (9.7% abv):
This unique version of our imperial stout features the addition of bitter cocoa nibs, cinnamon spice, creamy vanilla and smoky chipotle peppers. This 2020 flavour of our imperial stout is a rustic, sweet and spicy treat that’s all wrapped-up with a warm, comforting finish.
All three versions of Blackburne are available now individually and in a special 3-pack in the Left Field retail store and online shop.
